What is in-cab advertising (CADOOH) in India?

Cab digital out-of-home puts your brand on a silent headrest screen at arm’s length. Here’s how it works, what it costs, and when it beats a billboard.

Backseat Network · 15 September 2026

In-cab advertising, also called CADOOH (cab digital out-of-home), places a silent tablet on the back of the front-seat headrest. Every passenger in the back seat sees your creative at eye level for the length of the ride.

Why the back seat works

  • Dwell time. City rides in Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru run 20–45 minutes. Airport rides are often longer.
  • Arm’s length. The screen sits about 60 cm from the passenger, closer than any hoarding.
  • Silent by design. No audio means drivers stay focused and passengers keep watching.
  • Action before arrival. A QR code on every creative turns a ride into an install, order or booking.

What it costs

On Backseat Network, media is ₹4,000 per cab per month, with 18% GST on the invoice. You choose cities, cab count and months in the self-serve console and pay online by UPI, card or netbanking.

How reach is measured

Each tablet reports GPS and playouts, so you see where and when your ad ran, by city and route, alongside QR scans.
